Have a stress-free ride

You need to go on a ride, but you’re dreading the trip because it is tough and tedious and the food sold at the motorway service or dining car makes you want to run for the hills?

Here is good news: Make it a joy ride by creating your own “lunch box” for the trip. It is tasty, you know what your food is made of as well as its origin; plus, it's more economical and it puts your mind at ease and helps you to arrive relaxed.

To make the best out of your lunchbox and out of your day, pick food for a well-balanced and satiating meal.

Menu suggestions:

How about a salad with green asparagus, strawberries, walnuts and goat cheese? Add more toppings tailored to your tastes. It’s delicious and light and does not weigh you down.

The vitamin B in the asparagus helps you keep cool when stress rears its ugly head. Steamed, broiled or seasoned as you please.

Add a handful of berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry) to your salad. Berries are rich in vitamin C and helpful in fighting stress as they lower cortisol levels.

Walnuts rich in omega-3 fatty acids keep the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline in check. To bring out their flavor, toast them for 10 min, then chop them and add them to your salad.

For dessert grab a yoghurt drink or a fruit compote as they are easy to carry and don't necessitate cutlery. And for some real moments of bliss, a few squares of dark chocolate, as their source of magnesium will help you relax in the traffic.

Relax bonus: Choose food that you love for your lunchbox, which immediately calms and gives you a great feeling of relaxation. As in the recipe, favor food groups that reduce the cortisol level, release endorphins, and calm you down in a stressful environment. And don’t forget to make your lunchbreak a special ritual to celebrate and create a positive atmosphere by choosing a nice spot to enjoy your meal.
